I had a manger who stopped attending meetings for a month because mercury was in retrograde and she didn’t want there to be miscommunication.

To get a break from my team and meetings, I pretend to take calls from the phone booth.

Someone kept stealing my lunch, so I started writing “contains laxatives” on all my lunches. Nobody stole it again. They also stopped making eye contact.

It can be hard living up to demands from executives while trying to support your team and champion their work.

On my last day at work, I packed my things and left a note in the desk drawer that said, "RUN!"

I constantly have to stop myself from starting my emails with "Per my last email..."

One time, I had to log into a Zoom meeting with the execs last minute while at home. I might not have been wearing pants. No one noticed.

Sometimes I let emails sit for two days because I know the problem will solve itself—or someone else will take the blame.

Half my job is listening to my team vent about other departments. The other half is venting about it to my wife at dinner.
